Having trained in London Kevin joined the firm in 1985 and is one of its founding partners.  He heads up the firm's employment team and has specialised in Employment Law for 20 years.  His experience is in all areas of Employment Law, both contentious and non-contentious. 

Kevin has handled a number of high profile employment law cases in Tribunal through to the Employment Appeal Tribunal and into the Court of Appeal.  Two such cases have recently been reported.

Kevin has dealt with many High Court injunction cases often in the arena of restrictive covenant enforcement.

Kevin also is particularly well versed in the operation of TUPE.  He has considerable recent experience in advising on TUPE in the public sector, particularly with respect to outsourcing from the public sector to the private sector and the attendant pension implications.

Kevin was appointed to sit as an Employment Judge in the Employment Tribunals in 2002 and continues to sit on a part-time basis on all types of cases.

Recent work experience has included:

  • A disability discrimination case which went to the Court of Appeal and has been reported
  • Several TUPE cases involving multiple claimants and split contracts arising out of changes in service provision
  • A redundancy scheme for a PLC involving the redundancy of over 300 individuals
  • Warranty claims arising pursuant to a company sale concerning employees transferring under TUPE
  • Detailed TUPE issues arising out of public sector outsourcing
